Q: What is the best kind of kitchen?
A: The one that is right for you, the client. To get there, we need to learn how you use the space (or want to); then, what choices are out there in the marketplace and how to navigate them. Did I mention budget? There always is one. Your investment here is large and you deserve maximum value.
Good kitchen design is practical, aesthetic, and safe. "Practical" means a layout, materials, and appliances that work for you. "Aesthetic" means beautiful, pleasing all the senses. Safe, of course, means just that. The NKBA Kitchen Guidelines speak to all three aspects. I use them in every kitchen. Kitchens for special needs clients and "green" kitchens are jobs I welcome.
My kitchens are in NY, NJ, PA, CT, and RI. Most are traditional or transitional styles. I spec custom and semi-custom cabinets, also Conestoga's cabinet line, and I work with several sources. Appliances, countertops, flooring, faucets. . . when you need to know, I'll tell you. When I need to know, I listen.
